DESCRIPTION: EPW - "Carl Wagner" signed in case only, otherwise unsigned Continental jaquemart automaton quarter repeating verge fusee, standing figures of man and woman appearing to strike on bells as the watch repeats on gongs, 58mm, silver OF original consular case lacking its case-ring and cuvette, KWKS, WED at center of silver and gold mask and figures, verge escapement, gilt mvt with pierced & engraved foliate scrolled two-footed balance bridge, without visible number, in need of restoration. Gross weight of assembled watch 70.5 dwt (109.7 g).
CONDITION: Mvt: NR, complete, nearly fully wound, good staff, no escapement function, balance cap altered, plates show fair gilding, some oxide on steel components; repeat functions and strikes but too rapidly, the governor pinion may be gone; dial with several hls; hands excellent; original case shows very light wear, missing mvt ring as noted, some MFS, no dents, few dings; closure good; bow & pendant original; good domed glass crystal.
